City Workshop in The Netherlands - Book Store
age 4 ~ 7 years old

Story books are gates bring children to trip around another imaginary worlds. The idea of this workshop was giving new life again for old books with children’s creative mind.

The old books, which were used in the workshop, were broken books from library. They didn’t function as a book anymore, but its beautiful pictures and words were the gateway to open up their imagination. Every word was a story, every picture was a world. Children built block sculptures together with picture and words from these old treasures.

After they finished their sculptures, every children couldn’t wait to tell the story behind each of them! Words, pictures and figures were all bound together and turned into new stories. When each of them drew the scene of story, the drawings of their stories were rich in imagination also influencing each others’. Character (sculpture) of friends’ came into the each others’ stories.

The stories from themselves and friend were very fascinating. Therefore, children decided to connect all the stories and made them into one big story book. Their new story book was titled ‘How the donkey and the robot saved city hall from the thieves and their vampire dog’.

Stories always intrigue children with its richness of imaginative power. Children’s own interpretation and imagination extension made the story even richer. Every children is a never ending story book himself/ herself.
